After 15 years of successful fund-raising for the Vocations Office in the Diocese of Phoenix, in 2021, the annual Bill Folz Memorial Golf For Vocations golf tournament will be introducing The Vocations Cup Trophy.
The award is meant to highlight a parish, or priest, or individual that is leading the way in supporting and promoting vocations in the Diocese.
Each year, the Golf For Vocations Board will nominate and vote for a recipient who best represents the highest commitment to support vocations in the Diocese. The award is presented to the winner at the Golf For Vocations luncheon. The award is permanently housed and displayed at the Nazareth House Seminary in Phoenix.
The trophy itself is a scale model of a 1st century fishing boat like the ones that Peter and Andrew used before they left their lives as fishermen to become ‘fishers of men’.
We are excited about this new award and look forward to continuing a long-term legacy of recognizing and promoting increased support for seminarians in the Diocese of Phoenix.
